2nd Norwegian Esports Summit
The Esports Summit is a two-day national workshop focused on esports-based youth education in Norway, open to the public between 7–8 May 2026 in Grimstad. This event is hosted by UiA through FLARE – Future Lab for Academic Research in Esports, in collaboration with Esports Alliansen.
Its purpose is to strengthen practice-based educational approaches, develop shared pedagogical language, and support clearer pathways from participation to education and future opportunities. This summit in particular will have its core theme be bridging the gap between community-based esports participation and education and future readiness. Because of the increase in the use of esports as a learning tool, the the workshop will delve into discussions around how competencies developed through esports activities can be made more visible, transferable, and recognised.
Day 1 of the event will be made up of panels and structured discussions around transferable learning models, discussing esports as a tool for learning and youth development, competence development, supporting healthy digital habits, and much more. Day 2 of the summit will be more practical, with participants being placed in groups to develop concrete outputs around working themes. We look forward to seeing you there, as there are many important conversations to be had about the future of esports.
