Results Are In For The Academic Esports World Tournament Hosted in Sydney

The Final Results

The second ever Academic Esports World Tournament (AEWT) has officially wrapped up over in Sydney, Australia. Teams from all over the world came together within the University of New South Wales campus to compete in multiple famous esports titles, including League of Legends, Valorant, Rocket League, and Teamfight Tactics. Outside of gaming, teams were also put through several academic challenges, including a business presentation, game jam, and an academic debate. Over the course of five days teams battled each other for the title of first, leading to a plethora of incredible moments.

Show below are the standings right before the finals, which were eventually won by UNSW in their home turf, with Eindhoven losing the finals in Teamfight Tactics. Overall, this is great news for UiA, with their position raising from 4th in the previous AEWT to now 3rd. The University of Texas, University of Mississippi, and Eindhoven UT were all newcomers to this year’s tournament, with students being thrilled to be able to take part of such a diverse event. The event was reported as a wonderful time among all teams, with a variety of events and plenty of team bonding experiences. Please do look forward to the next installment of the AEWT!
